Video Converter CGA/EGA/VGA is in debugging

Video Converter CGA/EGA/VGA to Scart, S-Video, Composite Video

In these pre-Christmas days, I’m back in the eighties where video arcades were populated by an invasion of teenagers with precious coins closed in their hands…

Why am I back in the eighties? No, I haven’t created the time machine and I’m not Dott. Emmet Brown 😉 My mind is back in the eighties because the new Video Converter and Enhancement Board is in debug. The board will be ready for the production and to be sold very soon.

The Video Converter/Enhancement Board (simply CEV2TV) is able to convert CGA (RGB + Intensity – RGBI), EGA (RGB + R Intensity, G Intensity, B Intensity- RrGgBb ) and VGA video signals to SCART, S-Video and composite video signals.

The Video Converter CGA/EGA/VGA to Scart, S-Video, Composite Video (CEV2TV) can be used to interface Arcade, CNC machine, old PC with EGA or CGA video card, etc. with broken or exhaust 15kHz CRT monitor to a new CRT (or LCD, Plasma, OLED, etc.) television set without losing a bit of quality but, rather, gaining video quality. In this days, to debug the board, I’m using MAME with video output at 15kHz (thanks to CRT EMU Driver) and the Metal Slug game at native resolution on CRT…AMAZING QUALITY!!!

Unlike ALL video converters on the market, CEV2TV does NOT alter the original video signals and it does NOT change frequency signals using scan converter or the classic chain:

ADC->MEMORY->PROCESSING->DAC

CE2TV “just” cleans the signals, it adapts the signals for the TV and it makes SCART, S-Video and composite video signals. The entire process occurs in analog domain. There are not Analog to Digital Converters on the board, ensuring maximum video quality.

Other informations will be revealed very soon!
